Mattress sizes, explained

Our mattress sizes are set by width, from 90 to 200 cm, with a length of 190, 195 or 200 cm depending on the product. Here is who each size suits.

The common sizes

  • Single (90 – 100 cm): for one sleeper, kids rooms and small rooms.
  • Double (120 – 140 cm): for one sleeper who likes room, or a couple in a very small room.
  • Queen (150 – 160 cm): the best size for most couples.
  • King (170 – 200 cm): for couples who want more room, or who are joined by a child or a pet.

How to work out the space

Leave at least 60 cm around the bed to walk and to open wardrobes and doors. Measure the room before you order, and allow for the bed and the bedside tables.

Width per sleeper

A simple rule is that each person needs about 80 cm of width. So two people need at least 160 cm (queen). If either of you moves a lot, think about a bigger size.

Height and sheets

Taller mattresses (30 cm and above) need a deep-pocket sheet. Check your sheet size before you order.

See the mattress size guide to compare sizes, or start from the mattresses page.
